Never thought I will get through....

Thursday, March 25, 2010
It's been like a month since I last blog. Well, some rough and tough time i have been through for the past few weeks...study week for professional exam was hell. But I get through all the restless night having to know about so muuuccchhhh disease (not to mention that most of them have unknown etiology, so WTF-how we supposed to understand them??? '''=.=).
Was so tensed up facing piles of notes that doesn't make sense (especially Dr.R_S_i_a's pharmacology notes, with so many toxicity that at one point I thought I was a pharmacy students), felt like giving up studying about anatomy, especially the muscle part, i mean do we really need so many muscle's just to bent our hand??? Ya, we do. Well, after knowing each of the muscle's function, I really kind of appreciate God's Creation. So magnificent... Every part of our body, up to the cellular, molecular, genetic level, it was all so well Designed. I never ever regret studying and understanding what I had first thought was useless. How stupid was I. Haha....

Well, I get through exams yesterday. Was so relieved...and now nervous and excited for the result tomorrow. Really hope and pray that all of us will past the exam and step to 3rd year as clinical student together!!! None left behind. After tomorrow, if I safely past, all I had to worry about is my research. Haiz...research, until now, I still don't get the purpose of having to carry out research. I mean research??? Isn't it only involves professors with white hair like Einstein, real doctors that found cure for some cancer, or some Nobel prize winner that trying to change the world with some humanity effort....i mean they are those people that actually know the purpose and goal of dong it?? Isn't it?? So why is a second year medical student who had just went through 1 month or so of lectures and tutorials about epidemiology, statistic study, public health supposed to absorb everything the lecturers from research department expect us to absorb??? I seriously don't think even 50% of us get the idea of having to get though this package in our study as a medical student. Rite my dear course-mates??
Didn't they know we already enough stuff to study...I mean, people children this generation got so much to study that they don't care ho many they have to study just for the fame of being the best student.. Form 5 student taking 16 subjects, aiming straight A's. Now, here we are going through the same thing here. Force to take package that we don't think is useful, I mean if we want to be some famous researcher later in life, we surely will study about what ever statistic and epidemiology la. I'm very very pretty sure those lectures in research department or Jabatan Sain Kesihatan Facukuti perubatan dan sain kesihatan now never learnt about whatever we learned when they were 2o years old. I'm sure they study about it later in their life. So, why can't they leave us alone and let us pour more time and focus on our diseases, drugs, anatomy, physiology that is more important for our life as medical student later and perhaps a useful doctor in 3 years time??

Here's a true story to share, though it's a sad one, we should learn something from this sad happening...especially those doctor-to be. Here goes.
A doctor with a brain won't just discharge a patient with a known cardiac failure for three years due to heart block(coronary atheroma) which later will develop edema peripherally and pulmonary edema rite? I f they really are doctors, they should have prescribe that patient with diuretics rite? Some more that patient was scheduled for by-pass surgery three weeks ago, suddenly decided not to go for it because that patient had developed edema. How irony that they discharge him with no medication and expect the edema would just disappear like that. Those doctors should have done something rite?? But why didn't they do anything??? All they give was Aspirin???!!!! I mean wtf is aspirin suppose to help this patient??? It's just does't make sense to me...perhaps someone who happens to know that some mechanism of action Aspirin to relieve edema, please tell me. I really love to know if there's something I miss when going through Dr.Win Maw or Dr.Aye Aye Toe's lectures. Seriously disappointed on how the doctors handle this case. Just so you know, the patient passed away 4 days after being discharged because his condition got worse and when he was admitted again to another hospital, but it was too late. Death certificate stated that COD was heart failure and kidney failure. Unbelievable!!!!
I swear and really hope i won't be like one of those doctors later in my life if i successfully able to put on the white coat on me. I seriously do. R.I.P to that patient.

Frustating and Dissapointing Semester...

Tuesday, February 2, 2010
Hi...I'm BACK!!! After days of 'torture' and many sleepless night, I kinda finally slow down my pace. I thought today will be the day I'm finally saying goodbye to all the craps about research...temporarily, But, I guess not yet...Because, I still haven't hand it our proposal. Anyway...kinda relieve now..coz everything that supposed to be finished is finally done!!!

I'm so frustrated and disappointed with this semester's schedule...

So long for all the hopes, dreams, expectations and plans I had thought of for this semester...
Feeling like my buddy lied to me...saying that this semester will be a honeymoon semester and bragging about all the free time he had enjoyed last semester..... It were all lies!! False hope I had hold on to... haiz...so despo for a break now!

I'm Lucky to have Kuan peng and walter as my researchmates...without them...I think i would have suffer from insanity soon... They are such a great teammate!! Love u guys...!!! We are not bad as a team..eh??!! Haha... Enjoyed 'Wat-ing' Kuan Peng with walter..!!

For the first time in my life....I'm facing my 'lao gong' for hours and hours....reading tons of journals...articles.... never before...Usually My eyes got misty if it's more than 3 hours... but now even if i had to face my lappie for the whole day (non-stop), my eyes would have adapted to all the negative effects of gamma or alpha waves going through my cornea...haiz... Getting prepared for the data analysis later, coz it's going to be more worse as we going to facing numbers that time...I hate numbers coz i hate math!

The worse thing is that PIMPLES won't leave me alone!!! Lack of sleep, water, food...all inviting these annoying-round-pus secreting stuff...WTF...!! One day I'm going to sue whoever introduce this research stuff into our program...just wait and see...i will make them pay for all the restless night and errupting volcano on my face!!! Argghh!!!

Now...my routine pace kinda slow down a bit...although i think it's too soon for PBL session... and I still haven't start studying for the biggest, scariest thing coming up...PROFESSIONAL EXAM!! 7 weeks, erm that's not right, minus one week CNY holiday..that will be six week left...rite??
Maybe less than that pun...haiz... Notes pilled up..reaching my waist level...IMAGINE that.. will I be able to swallow them all in this less than six weeks time???

One more time??

Friday, January 15, 2010
I happen to saw this really cool indian dance by the contestants of So You think You Can Dance TV show... the choreographic of the dance is really fun to watch...it's so lively and joyful to watch...i felt like jumping off my bed, start dancing and shaking my butt..haha...!! So, why don't you guys take a look at it??

So, nice right?? After watching this movie, it brings back memories...i thought of JAI HO!! Haha... I miss those days when I'm having fun with my other Jai Ho dancers..haha...!! I had a lots of fun dancing with them.. I got to thanks Kalai for offering me the chance to participate...I got to say...the whole experience of performing the same dance 4 times is really scary you know..haha!!

Well, it all began weeks before our faculty night during last semester... Kalai wanted to form a dance group to perform on that night because she had promised some big boss in the committee... She asked me whether I'm interested..then, I'm like...yeah!! Why not?? It's been a long time since I last danced...and it's Jai Ho..at that time this song was kinda hot..and I like it..so well, i thought of just giving it a try. My sprained ankle was just about to heal at that time...but I really wanted to do this...so, I set my mind...I want to Dance...!! Then later i ajak jayjay, Mag...then came along Abg Anuar and Kak CHa..both of them are our 3rd year senior...and they are good dancers too...hehe!!

Dance Practice in Bilik Kebudayaan...Posing...haha!! Luckily that room have mirror, if not can't take picture of all of us..haha!!

First try out with the dance costume...Mag n Abg Anuar posing gile...haha!!

From left: Anuar, Jay, erm..(i can't believe i forgot her name..but i know she's a biomedic student..wtf..sorry kak..-.-), Me!, Stephanie and Mag....Jai Ho!! erm..where's kalai?? hmm..

Minutes away from our performance...but still got time to cam whoring...haha...I remembered that time..i was damn nervous already..HuHu...

After the performance...changed into own clothes...People at the dinner said our performance was the best...haha...boasting again..
Anuar with fedora hat, jay with punjabi..me and kalai with dress, Steph with a nice erm duno how to call that..is it a blouse?? wtf.. mag wore white skirt..i think... BTW, whoever in charge of the food.. the food sucks..sorry...but we didn't really enjoy the food...all the dishes already dry up when it's our turn to eat...tsk tsk tsk... notice kalai's face..(not happy and angry..)haha....

Well....that was the first performance...now,time for our second one...really enjoy this one...had a lot of fun...some one from the AISSEC 61st International Congress Committee contact jayjay and beg us to perform the closing ceremony dance for their function..(boasting..wtf..haha)...kidding...they invited us..so..we thought it will be nice nice and cool...and because we are so baik hati..haha...we agree to it... But, i really did enjoy that night..

Ready...Get Set...haha..

GO!!!!! Anuar really know how shake those butts!!

Pictures with people from different countries...after the dance..

Ok...enough of of the photos already... I'm not posting any pictures of our 3rd and 4th dance... coz, well...it's kinda boring for all of us after the second dance...after Jai Ho at AISSEC...we really are BORED with the dance already...same song, same moves, same costume...sound like boring to me..haha... At least we had fun during the 1st and second one...

Lastly, all i can is that the sweats and nights of 'constant' practice...(that we end up have to stay up real late at night to study for assessment) really paid off.... I really hope i will have another chance to shine on stage again..haha!!

Well guys...a new semester is about to start....want another round of JAI HO??? HAHA!!!
